How I Solved a "Mushroom" Menace for Just Rs. 80 (30 cents)!

Below is an image of a pool with a wooden deck around it. Due to damp conditions, there is mushroom-like growth on the wood.

The growth is only on parts contaminated with outside rainwater. These areas remain wet for quite some time and do not dry quickly because of the humid weather. It looked like some form of fungi. I gave a sample of this substance to the lab just to see what it is, and the lab report said:

02 CFU of Candida spp. obtained after 05 days of incubation at 25Β°C.

Some internet research suggested Borax to handle Candida. Read more about it, here is a link about "Antifungal activity of borax-based formula on Candida spp." https://www.revodontolunesp.com.br/article/588018d17f8c9d0a098b4e31

I got some borax, made a water solution, and was able to completely control that growth. 1 kg of Borax cost me around Rs. 400 ($1.50 USD). I only used about 20% of it, worth just Rs. 80 (30 cents), to get rid of this menace for good.

Thought I'd mention it in case someone is facing the same issue!
